Gulf Animal Benefit In Franklin Set For Friday

A Franklin teenager, after having seen hours and hours of footage involving the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, has planned a benefit concert whose proceeds will go to an organization that is rescuing and rehabilitating animals whose lives and habitat have been affected by the incident.
16 year-old Olivia Beals has scheduled the "Jam for the Clams," a musical benefit for the Little Theatre at the Barrow-Civic Theatre in Franklin this Friday evening, June 30th, at 7:00 PM.
The proceeds from the event will go to the National Wildlife Federation to help further their efforts in animal rescue and habitat recovery in the area affected in the Gulf region.
Performers will include the bands Remora Deign and Breckenwood, and solo artists Patty Fritz, Caitlin Glenn and Richard Knight.
Tickets for the event are may be purchased in advance through the Barrow-Civic Theatre box office. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
