Pirates Beat Rockies On The Road
07/28/2010
The Pittsburgh Pirates posted a rare road win on Tuesday night, besting the Colorado Rockies 4-2 in Denver.
Neil Walker's three hits included his 4th home run of the season, and the Bucs won for just the 12th time in 50 road tries this season. Walker, Garrett Jones and Jose Tabata drove in runs for Pittsburgh (35-64).
Zach Duke earned his second straight win to improve to 5-9.
Brad Hawpe and Clint Barnes provided the Colorado runs with back-to-back solo home runs off Duke in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The game marked the beginning of a six-game road trip for the Pirates. Ross Ohlendorf (1-8) will get the start for Pittsburgh in Wednesday night's game in Denver.
